The clients engaged local architect Patrick Swain of Kydra designs to bring the house to life architecturally. Patrick is an exceptional architect who has a sole focus on creating well-designed, functional homes. As part of this, he has a firm grasp on the concepts that allow for the building of healthy, high performing and low maintenance homes that will endure the harsh climate of the Snowy Mountains. Heavily aligning with our ethos, this resulted in a strong connection between architect and builder, and ultimately an amazing home.
The Beckinsale family also enlisted the services of local interior designer, Sonja Schatzle. Sonja worked with the client’s love of raw steel, ensuring it was a prominent feature throughout the home. Sonja’s thoughtful and creative inclusion, however, ensured an amazing balance of harshness and beauty. This was particularly complemented by her purposeful placement of new and recycled timber throughout, adding warmth and charm. Synergy between designers, builders and clients provides opportunity for the creation of details and spaces that invoke curiosity and offer beautiful, functional results. This project allowed for the seamless evolution of a beautifully designed and expertly crafted home.
This project lends itself to timelessness. A unique family home that will be a talking piece for years to come.
